CUME 115 & 116 Classroom Technology
The Crestron touchscreen sits on the podium and operates the AV system. It has a long cable for operation from a desk for seminar-style teaching.
Lecture-style: Teach from the podium or front table toward in-person students.
- When there is significant in-person attendance
- When you plan to use the document camera
Seminar-style: Teach from a table toward the front screens, with students on either side.
- When there is low in-person attendance
- When you do not plan to use the document camera

Prepare your teaching material (laptop or document camera).
- Laptop: Close extraneous programs and prepare your presentation materials.
- Document Camera: Turn on; the power button is at the bottom right of the unit.
- Tap the touchscreen if screen is black.
- Tap the blue Join button under your class name.
Displays and cameras turn on. You are now in the class meeting.
4. Select the Main Camera

Under “Main” select the camera that will best capture the instructor (and track audio with “active speaker”).
- If teaching from the front of the room, select Instructor Cam.
- If teaching seminar-style toward the front wall, select Student Cam.

6. Share Content via Laptop or Document Camera.

7. Monitor who has joined the meeting via Zoom with “Participants”.

8. At the end of class:
- Tap End.
- Tap End Meeting for All.
- Tap Room Controls
- Tap System Off
